Stay up late? Eat dessert first? No boring speeches? Sounds like a Play Date!
We proved what would happen if adults could act like kids for one night. This unique fundraising event for Children’s Hospital Foundation in St. Louis was the brainchild of Evntiv’s Sam Foxman and Retta Leritz. Needless to say, “Play Date” wasn’t your grandpa’s gala! Guests slid into the party on an inflatable slide, played giant jenga, drank cartoon inspired cocktails, played vintage arcade games and decorated custom cupcakes- and that was just the cocktail hour!
The dinner began with dessert first and featured tables that guests could draw on or customize. Large glass bowls contained blocks, legos, toys and other fun things for guests to play with during dinner. In between food courses, doctors and donors would race each other on giant tricycles around a track built to span the circumference of the dining room. Winners were given plastic medals which they wore proudly for the rest of the evening! After dinner, the back wall of the dining area fell away to reveal a roller skating after party. Every gala should be this fun!
